Who We Are
Our firm handles legal matters in the areas of wrongful death and serious personal injury resulting from automobile accidents, bicycle accidents, boating accidents, motorcycle accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability, products liability/defects, state and federal tort claims, and construction accidents, among others. We also have a General Civil and Criminal Trial practice in all State and Federal Courts that includes business litigation and construction litigation. We also provide counseling and legal services for business start-ups, incorporations and wills and probate matters.
Our focus is on providing custom-tailored legal advice and assistance to individuals and small businesses, whether it entails advising on the formation of a corporation or partnership, advising a family on matters of wills and probate, or litigating civil and criminal matters to protect the rights of individuals and small businesses.
Fletcher M. Johnson, Jr. is the founder and managing attorney of the firm. He earned a B.S. degree in biology from the College of Charleston as well as a Master's in Mass Communication and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of South Carolina. Fletcher's practice is concentrated in the areas of serious personal injury and wrongful death, business law, criminal law and wills and probate. When Fletcher isn't spending time with his wife Betty, their sons Jimmy and Davey and their nine grandchildren in family activities or church activities, he enjoys playing music and painting. R. Craig Smith, LL.M., was born in Newberry, South Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree in finance and economics from the University of South Carolina, his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton, and his LL.M. in Taxation from Capital University. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate, Tax and Corporate Law, and Business Planning and Commercial Development. Geoffrey M. Lawson was born in Sumter, South Carolina. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Katherine L. Rosso is paralegal to Fletcher M. Johnson, Jr. Katie graduated from the Technical College of the Lowcountry with an Associates Degree in Public Service/Paralegal in May of 2007. Katie and her husband, Nate, live in Beaufort. She has been at the Law Office of Fletcher M. Johnson, LLC since February of 2006. Ashley M. Gammon joins us after serving as a Deputy Clerk of Court for the Town of Bluffton. She works as Director of Marketing and Client Relations. Ashley was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia, specializing in History and Women's Studies.
