THE EX-COMMUNICADOS
They come from the North and the South. Their musical influences range from church choir to bluegrass to rock ‘n roll to heavy metal to rhythm and blues. However, God saw fit to put into each of them the burning desire to praise and worship Him through song – no boundaries, no holds barred.
The Ex-Communicados came together to play their distinctive brand of music after having been asked over the years, sometimes subtly – sometimes not so subtly to “turn it down,” “play it slower,” “take out the drums”, “nix the electric guitars.”
They are driven solely by what J.S. Bach referred to as “soli Gloria Dei” – solely for the glory
of God.
The Ex-Communicados are: Jimmy Duke – drums, Mark Ossenfort – bass and vocals, Tim Ossenfort – guitars and bass, Betty Johnson – vocals and percussion, and Fletcher Johnson – guitars, mandolin and vocals.
They will be in concert (with special guests Jeff Wyatt – keyboard, and Zarisa Watkins – vocals) Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Resurrection Christian Community Church, 296 Spanish Wells Road, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Admission is free.
